Recommendations before coming

BOOKINGS
If you are travelling during High Season and you want to stay at the Refugios, it is advisable to book your accommodation two month before, especially during December, January and February.

IF YOU COME BY CAR
Drive always with your lights on and with your seat belt fastens. Check the state of your spare Wheel

IF YOU COME IN WINTER
Even though the park is open all year round, you have to realize that in winter the routes might be cut by snowstorms, so you will need some extra time. Check your accommodation if they will be open in that time of the year. If you are driving check the state of the routes and always use chains to drive on the snow.

WHAT YOU MUST BRING IN YOUR LUGGAGE

Personal Clothing

  • Good shoes, specially hiking boats, used before.
  • Use the “onion layer” methods to dress:
    • First layer: a quick dry t-shirt
    • Second layer: a fleece
    • Third layer: a waterproof windstopper
  • Accessories:
    • Sunglasses
    • Hut, specially a jockey
    • Sun scream 30 SPF
    • Gloves
    • Cap

If you are staying in a tent

  • Gas heater and spare bottles (It is forbidden to make fire)
  • Rubbish bags
  • Flashlight and spare batteries
  • First aid kit

PHISICAL CONDITION
Most of the trails are with some slope, some more than others, this is not a problem for a person with regular physical condition, for someone sedentary is advisable to do some outdoor walk previously before coming.

TRAILS

  • Walk only through authorized trails, try not to erode the surroundings
  • Try to keep clean the trails; all that comes in has to go out.
  • Do not feed the wild animals
  • Do not make fires, the strong wind can prorogue fires at any moment
  • Do not take souvenirs from the nature
  • If you find papers pick them up
  • Camp only in authorized campsites
  • Do not clean container with dishwashing
  • Do not make your biological needs close to a river
  • Do not enter pets
