The main route is No. 3, which is almost entirely paved. To enter the Province of Tierra del Fuego, it is necessary to cross the Strait of Magellan, which means that you must pass through Chile. This crossing is via a ferry service that is done in Primera Angostura (leaving from Punta Delgada in the continent to Bahia Azul on the Isla Grande) with a duration of 20 minutes. The other option is from Punta Arenas (on the mainland) to Porvenir lasting two hours. Once you are in Tierra del Fuego, you have to continue along route No. 3, again in the Argentine territory, after passing through the cities of Rio Grande and Tolhuin.
There is regular bus service throughout the year from Rio Gallegos (Santa Cruz) to Ushuaia.
From Buenos Aires there are several daily flights to Ushuaia, (Direct: 3 hrs or 5 hrs with stops). It can be taken from other locations such as Cordoba, Mendoza and all the Patagonian provinces.
Several maritime companies and scientific vessels include the port of Ushuaia as scale in their travels to Antarctica or the Fuegian channels.
Having apart from that, great activity in the transport of goods from the rest of both our country and the world.
